1863 journal entry
Dear familie,
It is July 14 as i am writting this. i just finishd the battle of Gettysburg which a terrible. We had so many casualties and we lost because general grant was in charg of da union. we didnt have tha high ground to shoot on so our acceracy asnt as good and we had to move more to find places to shoot. The battle last thre days. So many people died. We are losing the war now. I hope everything is goin good at home. I miss yall so much!
